North Norfolk Food Festival

We had a lovely day at the North Norfolk Food Festival yesterday held at Holkham Hall.

The day started out look a little gloomy but soon lightened up, not that we would have minded with so much big and delicious food on offer.

We started the feast off with a coffee from Express Coffee Cars, good quality real coffee in a nippy little vehicle. I had a vanilla latte which tasted as good if not better than the ones I get from Costa.

Next we stopped by the Holy Doughnuts stand, I didn't want to peak to early so had to resist the urge to buy one of every flavour but am reliably told that these were delicious!

My lunch for the day was a hog roast provided by Arthur Howell butchers and served by Master-chef Chris Coubrough who has just finished filming episode 4 of a series called "A taste of Greenland".

A hog roast never fails to impress and this one was no exception, put together in a soft roll with lovely juicy pork, a big slice of stuffing and the all important crackling which was crispy and crunchy.

Fully prepared for some serious tasting we headed into the courtyard of Holkham Hall.
Pork Pies from Brays Cottage
Our first stop was Brays Cottage pork pies which had an impressive array of pastry goodness on display. These were going down a treat for all who bought them.

We then had the pleasure of tasting Cordials from Norfolk Cordial and bought 3 bottles of the strawberry and lime flavour.

The Big Prawn Co.

The Big Prawn Co. had some lovely juicy prawns to try as well as crayfish, which we ended up buying two tubs of and some giant tiger prawns.

We spotted some Beautiful Cakes from Pedlars Pantry.

Fresh produce was available to buy from Elveden Farms including rainbow bunches of carrots.

Crush Foods were selling a whole variety of flavoured oils
.

All in all a great day out to try the tastes of Norfolk.
